 Gaming Misc's Heisman of Gaming Award 2007
This year was truly an awesome year of gaming but
if you want to hear me rant about how awesome it
was go read my last blog. But if you want the
results then keep reading. In a year with so many
great games which game is the cream of the crop,
the best of the best, the top performer, Gaming
Misc's Heisman of Gaming. Well it was hard
narrowing the nominees with so many games to three
games but when I look at the three nominees it just
makes sense. The Nominees are Orange Box, Super
Mario Galaxy, and Bioshock. All of these games are
outstanding and I would recommend them to anyone
who is, for one old enough to play these games
(Bioshock is not for the youngsters or the faint of
heart [basically everyone that reads this blog])
and to all those that love great games, because all
of these games are great. If I can describe why
these games stand above all the rest of the games
this year it would be with with one word, FRESH!
Everyone knows that keeping it fresh is one of my
mottos and all of these games do that. Super Mario
Galaxy takes what is great about Mario games and
turns it on its head, literally, with great level
design that uses gravity in ways never considered.
Orange Box smashes what people expect in a game and
for $50 gives you five games, Half-life 2 and it's
two add ons (which together can be considered the
best one player First Person Shooter ever), Team
Fortress 2 (A great and fresh multiplayer game that
is all about fun) and Portal( one of the most fresh
games ever, a puzzle FPS, who thought it was
possible!!!!). Then there is Bioshock which
redefines games as an art form, with the best
atmosphere in a game ever, a storyline that tackles
issues like free will, genetic engineering, and
morality of survival, and couple this with an
unique rpg element to the game, this game is great.
But in the end all three games can not win so the
winner is...... Super Mario Galaxy. This game was
just really great. It showed the world and myself
what the Wii can do. It has great visuals,
presentation, sound, controls, and gameplay. It
keeps everything fresh with fantastic level design,
new powerups and varying game types. It is truely a
masterpiece of gaming and well deserving of the
title Heisman of Gaming - 2007.

repeat of the last, but I'm glad you're back
Spidder-man.

I'm happy for ya', Mario!! But next year you
won't be so lucky, for you see, Star Fox games
average one game every 3 years, I expect to see
the next one comin' 'round in 2009! Then we'll
see who the bestest is! >:)

The 2006 version of Game Trailers reviews for DS
games didn't even nominate SFC! The contest is

YEAH Gametrailers is awesome! I posted there Game
of The Year video on my Homepage. They are the
ones who did both the Zelda and Metroid
Retrospectives. It is pretty much the best place
for videos. And New Super Mario Bros. is the BEST
game on the DS! Of course it won best of the year.
(Though maybe Zelda is better, I am not very far)

Another failure for Wii-- ANyway, I disagree
with you, SPG. Star Fox Command was the best DS
ever, I beat the first temple in Phantom
Hourglass and it does not compare. Neither does
new super mario bros. And I saw that 2007 award
thing, I'm happy for nintendo, maybe now that
they amde their precious mario game they can
concentrate on Star Fox...

StarFox. And whilst not confirming or denying
that a StarFox title is in development, it seems
to SPOnG that a new version is highly likely.
Otherwise, why would Miyamoto even bother
mentioning it?

RUMOR: KID ICARUS for Wii
Digg.com is reporting that according to sources
Factor-5 (makers of Rogue Squadron on Gamecube and
Lair on PS3) is making a Kid Icarus game for the
Wii. Factor-5 used to be a second party developer
for Nintendo until they decided to split of and
explore other opportunities. Well, that other
opportunity was Lair for the PS3 and that game was
a flop because Sony forced Factor-5 to only have
Six-Axes motion controls and they where terrible.
A few months ago they announced that they were
working on a Nintendo system again, the Wii. And
digg.com says it is Kid Icarus. It is only a rumor
but I hope it is true because Factor-5 has made a
lot of great games in the past and Kid Icarus
needs to make a comeback.

Okay, time for a star fox lecture. Looks like
the arwings doing some changes. It's controlled
with a little stick thing now, whereas in 64 Fox
would put his hands on the control panel. In
Adventures, the cockpit is not seen but it's
safe to say that he uses a junky steering wheel.
In assault, it controls similar to scorpian
class attack cruisers like in Nemesis, as can be
seen in the opening cut scene. And oh MAN! This
basically throws the g-diffusor theory right out
the window!
